Lower Makefield Police Registry: Unemployment, Endemic Credit Fraud

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA – The Lower Makefield Township Police Department received reports of 11 cases of fraud to obtain unemployment benefits between July 1 and Thursday. Additionally, police responded to unauthorized PayPal charges and drug possession cases.

Thursday July 1

10:07 am – Someone 100 block from Tower Circle reported an unauthorized debit of $ 2,400.00 on their PayPal account.

11:03 am – Someone in the 400 block of Sweetbriar Court has reported that unknown people have applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

12:15 – Someone reported from Pevsner Road that unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

1:16 p.m. – Someone in Block 900 of Roelofs Court reported unauthorized use of a credit card in the amount of $ 749.42.

2:16 p.m. – Someone reported from Georgian court block 1700 that unknown people have applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

Friday July 2

4:56 p.m. – Someone reported the theft of a bicycle on the canal road at Black Rock Road.

saturday july 3

12:38 AM – Police were investigating a parked and busy vehicle traveling on the roadway on W. Ferry Road. Further investigation led to the 19-year-old Morrisville passenger being cited for underage drinking.

Tuesday July 6

8:29 a.m. – Someone at the 5500 block of Spruce Mill Drive reported that one or more unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

1:52 PM – Someone at the 600 block of Kings Road reported that one or more unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

Wednesday July 7

9:36 a.m. – Someone at the 1900 block of Polo Run Drive reported that one or more unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

10:01 a.m. – Someone in the 300 block of Tall Meadow Lane reported that one or more unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

10:18 am – Someone at the 1200 block of Clearview Drive reported that one or more unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

11:16 am – Someone has reported from the 2000 block of Leedoms Drive that one or more unknown people have applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

12:00 p.m. – Someone in the 2000 block of Makefield Road reported that unknown people used their information to obtain an EZ Pass.

3:26 PM – Someone in the 1200 block of Fountain Road reported that one or more unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

4:45 p.m. – Someone reported from the 1300 block of Apple Blossom Drive that one or more unknown people had opened two lines of credit in their name.

Thursday July 8

1:23 p.m. – Someone in the 100 block of Glen Valley Road said they accepted a position at what turned out to be a shell company. The victim lost $ 1,000 after cashing and distributing overpayment checks.

4:00 p.m. – Someone in the 900 block of Baron Drive reported that unknown people had applied for unemployment benefits on their behalf.

5:33 PM – Someone at the 1400 block of Overlook Road reported that unknown people had opened an AT&T account in their name.

9:54 p.m. – Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violation at Oxford Valley Road and Highway 1. Further investigation revealed the 29-year-old driver from Levittown was wanted out of Bucks County and the passenger 33 Langhorne was in possession of several packages of heroin, Suboxone, Xanax and drug paraphernalia. The men were taken into custody.
